The Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, in conjunction with the Young Lawyers’ Committee is hosting a “Lighting Our Path Toward Justice” Talk Back and Panel Discussion Luncheon commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 on Wednesday June 25, 2014 in New York City. The focus of this event is to highlight the transformative impact of this groundbreaking legislation in forging a pathway to social justice and equal opportunity for all Americans. The Panel Discussion and Luncheon will take place on Wednesday, June 25th from 12:00p.m. – 3:00p.m at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP.
The Luncheon will take place from noon – 1:30p.m. and feature a “Talk Back” with Gilbert King, Pulitzer Prize winning author of Devil in the Grove: Thurgood Marshall, The Groveland Boys and the Dawn of a New America, and will be immediately followed by the Civil Rights Act of 1964 panel discussion.
